Kaneda is the hero of Akira and the leader of a motorcycle gang called the Capsules. He is a defiant, arrogant teen who likes to stick it to the man and lives for the thrill of street racing.
Kaneda is charismatic, cocky, and fiercely passionate about his friends. His leadership qualities and sense of responsibility grow as the story progresses, making him a relatable and heroic figure.
He is of slightly above average height with short black hair and dark brown eyes. His thing was a big ass pill on the back of his jacket, red pants and boots, and a baby yellow t-shirt. In a few scenes, he replaces this with a pink polo shirt, off-white pants, and white sneakers. And of course, he rides the iconic red bike.
Kaneda is pitched as the chief rebel, especially to traditional authority, represented by Colonel Shikishima. He tends to shoot without asking questions… which is a problem.
